Print media—and the advertisements that support it—are consumed at a reader’s leisure, who determines the length of time to spend with the content.
Depending on the advertising goals, messaging strategy, and creative execution, print is still a very effective media channel for reaching and influencing certain consumer groups, despite declining circulation numbers and the apocalyptic rhetoric around the state of print media.
Local print advertising has many benefits as part of a me
dia mix:
- Geographically targeted
- Tangible (touch/feel it) and portable
- Good for coupons and sale events (inserts)May be demographically, geographically, psychographically (local magazines) targeted
- Engaged audience involved in content
Ad space comes in a variety of sizes, typically black and white or color, with inserts available for special promotions. Because it’s print, deadlines are strict and changes can’t be made to an issue that’s already printed and delivered.
